Health Alert: Coffee study

CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- A new report says go ahead and have that second cup of coffee!
 
It may have hidden benefits to help your mind.

Researchers in this study conducted laboratory studies and found that those who got 23 cups of coffee a day were able to reduce plaques in the brain to reduce the risk for Alzheimer's disease.  We stopped out at good Samaritan Hospital to tell you more about this research.

Now it's important to note you can have your coffee how you like it because it may actually be the caffeine that the makes the difference.  Researchers in neurobiology of aging found that those who had a cup or two a day of coffee with caffeine were able to delay cognitive impairment.  It's likely two to three cups that give the benefit.  More of a good thing, not always better, since you drink coffee to engage in your day.  It may be that the other things you do; exercising, eating well, socializing, that also helps.
