Ohio projects receive funding from construction budget

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) -- Several local projects are getting money from the Ohio legislatures' mulit-billion dollar construction budget.

Governor John Kasich signed the nearly $2.4 billion deal late Tuesday. The proposal directs $675 million dollars towards primary and secondary schools.

Roughly $455 million will go towards repairs and new buildings at public colleges and universities.

The rest will be used in local road, bridge, sewer and other infrastructure projects, as well as the Clean Ohio preservation program and other community projects.

Officials estimate the projects funded under the bill will create other 31,000 jobs over the next several years.
