Local high school honors fallen officer Saturday

GLEN ESTE, Ohio (WKRC) -- A local high school honored a graduate Saturday who was murdered in the line of duty.

Glen Este retired Jason Ellis' high school baseball number at a ceremony.

Ellis was a police officer in Bardstown, Kentucky when he was killed in an ambush on his way home from work last May.

Ellis was the team captain and an all conference player his senior year at Glen Este.

In 2002, he even signed a free agent contract with the Reds.

The school also dedicated a plaque in Ellis' name.
