Commander of OSP Wilmington post arrested

WILMINGTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- An Ohio State Highway Patrol commander is arrested on two charges of domestic violence. Michael Sanders is a commander at the Wilmington post.

The incident dates back to last Tuesday. Sanders and his ex-wife were apparently involved in a disturbance in downtown Wilmington. Wilmington police interviewed both Sanders and his ex-wife at the time. Officers arrested Sanders on Friday on two counts of domestic violence.

He remained in the Clinton County jail over the weekend. At his arraignment Monday, a judge ordered him held on a $1,400 cash bond. Sanders is due back in court on the 29th.

OSP says it's looking into the incident and hasn't decided how to handle the incident. Sanders has requested time off.
