Radio voice Don Herman passes away

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- For 40 years in Cincinnati Don Herman's was the voice that delivered the news on the radio.

"I've loved what I've been doing for all these years.... would live forever," Herman said at his retirement in 2002.
For generations of Cincinnatians, Don's voice delivering the news in the morning was often the first voice you heard after you shut off the alarm clock.  He worked at WCKY and WSAI and mentored scores of journalists.
Don Herman passed away Sunday.  His funeral is Thursday morning at 10:30 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Anderson Township.
He was 86 years old.
