OVI checkpoint being held in West Chester Friday night

WEST CHESTER, Ohio (WKRC) -- The Ohio State Patrol and Butler County Task Force will hold an OVI checkpoint Friday night from 9 p.m. to midnight on Mulhauser Road at Inter-Ocean drive in West Chester.

The OVI checkpoint is funded by federal grants and plans to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoint will also be held alongside nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injuries and fatal crashes.

In a press release the Ohio Highway Patrol stated, "If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Dont let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired."
