North Adams HS evacuated for bomb threat

SEAMAN, Ohio (Derek Drake) -- School officials and law enforcement officials confirms a bomb threat caused the early dismissal of students from North Adams High School Tuesday.

According to Rodney Wallace, Superintendent of the Adams County/Ohio Valley School District, an email was received by the school at 8:30 a.m. on April 2, 2014.

The email details were not immediately released, but officials said it indicated a bomb threat for North Adams High School.

Students and staff were evacuated and parents were notified of the activity. Students will be released early at 1:30 p.m.

Law enforcement officials are currently sweeping the school and also following up on leads regarding the source of the email.

School district leaders are discussing what the district does next.
