Former Northwest teacher to plead guilty in sex case

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A former Northwest High School teacher is expected to plead guilty to a charge of sexual battery, involving a student.

Brandon Lampley is charged with one count of sexual battery. He's accused of having sexual conduct with a 16-year-old student on February 12. The investigation began when the girl was not in her assigned classroom when she should have been.

Lampley resigns shortly after the accusations surfaced. He's expected to plea on Wednesday at 10 a.m. He faces up to five years in prison.

Prosecutor Deters said in a release, School employees in a position of authority, such as Lampley, are held to a high standard.  Parents should not have to worry about teachers having sexual conduct with their children while they are at school.
