Humane Society of Northern Kentucky holds hay drive for horses

INDEPENDENCE, Ky. (WKRC) -- Hay bales are collected for more than a dozen horses in need.

The Humane Society of Northern Kentucky organized a hay drive Sunday at the Kenton County Fairgrounds.

Dozens of sick and dead horses were found on property off Highway 177 in Pendleton County last month on Larry Browning's farm. 15 surviving horses are in the care of volunteers right now, and they need help to keep going.

Volunteers collected 11 roll bales of hay and 25 bags of horse feed. The horses also need salt blocks, mineral blocks and square bales. Once the court case against Browning is resolved and the horses are well enough, they will be put up for adoption.

Cash donations are also being accepted at the Bank of Kentucky. To donate, click HERE.
