Many events taking place downtown for Memorial Day weekend

CINCINNATI (Brad Underwood) -- Parades, baseball and a little food.

This weekend, downtown Cincinnati is full of activities for just about everyone.

Fifth Street is now closed from Vine all the way down to Sentinel. The majority of the tents are up and waiting to be filled with some of the best eats in town.

Just a little bit north of in Over-the-Rhine, a parade kicked off Fringe Fest earlier Friday evening. Led by the band, the parade made its way through OTR.

Many walked, some used segways waving to OTR patrons at the bars and restaurants, passing out candy and fliers about the 2014 Fringe Festival.

The festival includes performances from 34 artists traveling from more than 30 states and two countries abroad. Some of the performances will take place at the Know Theater on Jackson Street, but a total of 12 different venues will be used for this year's festival.

On Fountain Square, Taste of Cincinnati opens up at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Reds are also playing the Cardinals this weekend. Two of the games are on national TV.

This year's Taste of Cincinnati will include 60 area restaurants and more than 70 entertainment acts during the three-day festival.
