Man on trial for big box scam

CINCINNATI (Jeff Hirsh) -- A man on trial for allegedly being the leader of a theft and money laundering ring says he didn't do it. James Dabney allegedly orchestrated the use of counterfeit money to steal items from Home Depot stores

The prosecution says Dabney was also in charge of a box stuffing ring. Box stuffing means someone would shoplift items, put them into the packaging of an item they would actually pay for, then return the shoplifted items for store credit. That credit was in gift cards which were then sold

The defense says other than one incident in late 2011, the evidence implicates other people, not Dabney. The charges against Dabney include receiving stolen property, telecommunication fraud, theft and money laundering.
