Gearing up for the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby

LOUISVILLE (Perry Schaible) -- The Kentucky Derby is Saturday and folks are gearing up for the fastest two minutes in sports at Churchill Downs.

The horses were out on the track early Friday morning, getting a workout.

Turfway announcer Mike Battaglia gives his thoughts on early favorite California Chrome. "You know this horse has done everything right, and Just keeps getting better. His race in the Santa Anita Derby was spectacular. Victor Espinoza wasn't even asking him to run in the end. It was really good big question mark is how he's going to handle the move out of California. All his races have been in California."

First the fillies will take the track Friday in the Kentucky Oaks. About 100,000 people attend that race each year. Post time for the Oaks is 5:45 p.m.
