Man tested negative for MERS virus

MUNSTER, Ind. (WKRC) -- A man thought to have the first U.S. case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome tested negative for the virus.

The Indiana man was released from the hospital Friday. He had been diagnosed with MERS, a mysterious virus that's been linked to the Middle East.

According to Community Hospital in Munster, the patient is now considered fully recovered and has been cleared to travel if necessary.
