Police arrest suspect in two bank robberies

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Police believe they caught the man who robbed a Colerain Township bank Wednesday and the Fifth Third branch on Fountain Square the day before.

The thief held up the U.S. Bank branch, near Galbraith, shortly after 9 a.m. Cincinnati police say a plainclothes officer in the area recognized the vehicle description as the SUV used in the Fifth Third robbery Tuesday.

Cincinnati Police pulled the SUV over at Linn and York streets in the West End. Investigators say the suspect also matches the description of the robber at Fifth Third. Police arrested him but they have not released his name or the charges he is expected to face.

Officers did say they think they recovered some of the stolen money.
