Our Economy: Visa, Mastercard push for credit card microchips; GM recalls more vehicles
UNDATED (WKRC) -- Visa and Mastercard push to speed the adoption of microchips in U.S. credit and debit cards.
This is after recent high-profile data breaches.
Card processing companies argue that a move away from the black magnetic strips on the backs of credit cards would hep eliminate credit card fraud.
And General Motors announced its 30th recall for 2014.
The recall includes about 500 full-size pickups and SUVs from 2014 and 2015 model years. The vehicles are still at dealerships and won't be sold until repairs are made.
GM has now recalled more than 13 million vehicles since January.
