Man now charged with aggravated murder in death of Lockland woman

LOCKLAND, Ohio (WKRC) -- Lockland Police have charged Daniel Johnson with aggravated murder in the death of 67-year-old Wanda Glenn.

Investigators were looking for a link between the murder of Glenn and a robbery on the same day that happened just up the street.  Police didn't have to go far to find the connection.  Daniel Johnson was already locked up in the justice center accused of robbing a member of his family; Wanda Glenn's 86-year-old neighbor.  Police say he put his hands around the woman's throat while taking money out of her bra.

Friday afternoon Lockland officers added aggravated murder to Johnson's charges.
On Tuesday, Wanda Glenn was able to hit her medical alert device to let authorities know she was in trouble.  Lockland Police believe she was targeted because she was disabled and lived alone.  Officers found her body in her  home on Arlington Avenue.

"She was pretty much harmless. You know she was defenseless. She hadn't been out of the house in three or four years. So I don't understand why anyone would do that," said Ed Wright, a neighbor who's  known Glenn for 40 years.

Johnson remains locked up in the Hamilton County Jail.
