Suspect in Erlanger deadly hit and run in court

ERLANGER, Ky. (WKRC) -- The suspect in a deadly hit and run, appeared before a judge Monday.

Lonnie Turner is locked up on a $100,000 bond in the Kenton County Detention Center. Turner surrendered to police after investigators issued a warrant for his arrest in the death of 29-year-old Lauren Pettit.

A Duke Energy crew found Pettit's body Saturday morning in a grassy area along the side of Crescent Springs Pike between I-71 and I-275.

Police say Turner was behind the wheel of the car that hit her. They also say drugs and alcohol could be factors.

Turner faces charges of manslaughter and being a persistent felony offender.
