Former Northwest H.S. employee pleads guilty to sexual battery

CINCINNATI (Joe Webb) -- A former teaching assistant admits in court today to having sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl at Northwest High School.
Brandon Lampley pleaded guilty to one count sexual battery for one encounter. He was also a basketball coach in addition to his teaching assistant position.

In court, it came out that they had sex at school at least one other time. Lampley told the court, through his attorney, that he was pleading guilty to expedite the case and spare the girl further embarrassment.

It was revealed Lampley and the girl began texting in January. By the time they were caught a month later, they had exchanged more than 700 messages.

They pair met twice in the training room. No students were admitted to the room during school hours but Lampley had a key. They were caught by surveillance cameras. They were in the room for 22 minutes when she was supposed to be in class. She told police she performed oral sex on him.

While the girl was 16-years-old which is the age of consent, the act was still illegal because of Lampley's position of authority at the school. He did not coach or teach her.

Lampley left the courtroom in handcuffs. He's being held without bond. He faces up to five years in prison when he's sentenced on May 30.
