Mothers of servicemen killed in action draw attention to Memorial Day

WEST CHESTER, Ohio (WKRC) -- During this Memorial Day weekend, a moms group reminds us all the true meaning of the holiday.

A southwest Ohio chapter of American Gold Star Mothers are hosting a weekend event at the National Voice of America Museum of broadcasting on Tylersville Road in West Chester.

The women are moms of servicemen who were killed in action. Ohio has the third highest number of casualties of the war on terror.

The event included an Honor and Remember ceremony and several exhibits including the Ohio Flags of Honor, Eyes of Freedom and Traveling Tomb of the Unknowns.

The event will be open Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., also.
