Streetcar supporters begin plans for uptown connection

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The same group that kept Cincinnati's streetcar on track when Mayor John Cranley tried to kill the project turns its attention uptown.
"Believe in Cincinnati" scheduled a June third Town Hall meeting at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center to start planning ways to connect the loop now under construction to the neighborhoods around the University of Cincinnati.
The plan for of a possible uptown connection is only in the very early stages and lacks funding.  It was part of the original design for the streetcar project, but planners scaled that back after Ohio Governor John Kasich yanked 50 million dollars in state support.
