Man accused of robbing Burlington bank in custody

BURLINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) -- A homeless man is in custody after being charged with robbing a bank in Burlington.

Police say 34-year-old Devon Edmonston gave the teller at the Heritage Bank a note saying he had a bomb and demanded money.

An off-duty Sheriff's deputy was in the bank at the time. When made aware of the robbery, he followed Edmonston on foot and relayed his location to a 911 operator.

Deputies picked up Edmonston in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex just as he got into his car.
