Police searching for suspects in home invasion robbery caught on camera

MOUNT AIRY, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- A violent home invasion is caught on camera and police need your help to find the three men responsible.

The armed men kicked their way into a mount airy apartment and pistol whipped the person who lives there.  The video from the assault you will only see on Local 12 News.

Police say it is rare to get crystal clear video of suspects in a robbery but that is what they have.  It appears that the suspects intentionally beat the victim simply because he tried to keep them out of his home.

Surveillance cameras caught three men walking into a four family unit on Flanigan Court on May 21st in Mount Airy.  All three suspects have guns and two are wearing hooded sweatshirts.  The other suspect is wearing a baseball cap with something else partially covering his face.  One begins kicking in the door and the two others join in trying to kick their way inside the apartment.  Police say the victim was on the other side of the door trying desperately to keep the intruders out of his home.  Finally, the suspects burst through the victim's door.  They get inside, beat the victim, steal his money and leave.

Police say it appears that the suspects were familiar with the apartment building and they knew there were surveillance cameras.  The victim was treated at the scene.  He sustained significant injuries to his head.
