Tour highlights startups in Cincinnati, midwest

QUEENSGATE, Ohio (WKRC) -- It's called The Rise of the Rest tour. AOL founder, venture capitalist Steve Case and U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker are visiting new, small businesses in Cincinnati, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Nashville.

The idea is to spread the word that there's more to high-tech and internet startups than just Silicon Valley, Boston, and Austin. "Well I think there are a lot of great entrepreneurial regions across this country that don't get a lot of attention, and that's what this tour is all about, go around the middle of the country and highlight what entrepreneurs are doing, building great companies."
Among the companies visited is dotloop, which speeds up real estate transactions by having all the documents available on line. People don't have to drive back and forth to the broker's office, the title company, and the bank.

Five years ago, dotloop was founded by two people.  It now has 120 employees.
