New rules for Uber and Lyft on hold

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Uber and Lyft will continue to operate outside Cincinnati's taxi regulations for the foreseeable future.
City leaders postponed voting on new rules for the companies.  The rules called for mandatory insurance regulations and background checks.

Representatives from Lyft said the new regulations were rushed.

Wednesday's city council meeting was the last before summer break.  Other votes Wednesday allowed the first new hotel downtown in more than 30 years and paved the way for Catholic Health Partners to move to Bond Hill.
