Dog makes appearance at Paws-a-Palooza after recovering from abuse

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) -- A dog that was abused has beaten the odds and made his public debut Saturday.

Joseph the German Shepherd that was chained to a tree in Middletown for nearly four years and left to starve was rescued in Sept. 2013.

He was at the Paws-a-Palooza awareness event Saturday in Middletown sponsored by Paws Adoption Center. Joseph was saved by a Paws staff member and volunteer.

Now nearly nine months and 40 pounds later, he is thriving in his new home.
