Extreme weather affecting US

UNDATED (CBS) -- Many across the nation are feeling the impact of severe weather.

Minnesota and Tennessee are seeing heavy rains and flash flooding, and Arizona is battling a massive wildfire.

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton says damage from the flooding there is significant.

"I've never seen damage this severe and widespread. Usually it's in one or two counties; this is all over the state," he says.

Residents of Prior Lake, Minnesota are fighting to keep rising waters at bay. St. Paul is no better off. Playgrounds and buildings are partially submerged by rising water.

Flash flooding in Memphis,Tennessee is posing problems for drivers, also. Some roads are covered in three feet of water.

Further west, Arizona residents are keeping their eyes on the San Juan fire which has been burning since Thursday.

Firefighters are working to contain the blaze and prevent further evacuations. So far, about 5,000 acres have burned.
