Police investigating house explosion in Hamilton

HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- A home on Ross Avenue in Hamilton burst into flames just after 4:30 Friday afternoon.

A man driving by ran into the burning home and found a man on the second floor. He got him out of the house just minutes before the roof collapsed.

A neighbor, Kandace Buttree, watched it all unfold.

"Fire just going as far as it could up into the sky burning the trees. We seen them carrying out the men. These men are crying in agony and pain. Everyone screaming. Everything just falling apart. Just terrible," says Buttree.

The man in the home is at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. There's no word yet on his condition.

It's not clear what caused the explosion.
