Father could get death penalty for double murder, if convicted

HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- The Hamilton man accused of shooting to death his daughter and another man, could face the death penalty if he's convicted.

A Butler County grand jury indicted Alfred Rutherford on aggravated murder charges and a gun charge.

Rutherford's wife called 911 on June 18, to say her husband shot their 29-year-old daughter, Lacey, in the throat after an argument at their Hilda Avenue home. Police also found 41-year-old Steve Watkins shot to death in the home.

Rutherford drove off. Police found him hours later at Joyce Park, after a tip. Lacy Rutherford's children and some of their friends witnessed the shooting, which took place during a sleepover.

Alfred Rutherford his held on two million dollars bond.
