Prosecution to move forward on Norwood prostitution case

NORWOOD, Ohio (Jeff Hirsh) -- Prosecutors will move forward in the case of a Norwood hotel that was shut down for being an alleged hotbed for prostitution and drug related activity.

Police raided the hotel back on June 2nd after years of alleged illegal activity. Those main offenses were prostitution and the dealing of heroin.

More than 40 guest had to leave the hotel in the early morning hours when police raided the hotel. Since then, the only people that have gone inside were investigators.

This is something that Norwood police had been following for months. Two weeks ago they finally just said enough is enough.

City officials wanted the hotel shut down for good. Representatives from the Quality Inn felt like they're getting a raw deal.

Judge Robery Ruehlman will decide whether to extend the shutodwn or let the hotel reopen. If it does stay closed, a future hearing will determine whether that becomes permanent.
