Dash cam of Bengals player traffic stop released, trooper suspended

LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WKRC) -- Dash cam video Monday night showed a traffic stop that landed a Bengals player in jail.

Local 12 learned the trooper who arrested him has been suspended without pay.  The South Carolina state trooper arrest defensive end Sam Montgomery Wednesday, June 25.  Montgomery was speeding, going 89mph in a 55mph zone.

It wasn't that the trooper pulled Montgomery over that got him suspended but rather his conduct.
The trooper in the video said, "Do not move. Look away from me. Look away. Look away. Keep your feet together. Sir, if you cannot follow my commands, the next thing you're going to get is a taser. Spread your feet!"

Montgomery responded, "Whoa, I'm not causing any problems."

The South Carolina department of public safety has launched an investigation into the trooper's conduct.  Montgomery, meanwhile, was released from jail.  He will face a judge for the speeding ticket in July.
