Shed used by alleged child rapist displayed by Butler Co. detectives

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (Larry Davis) -- Butler County investigators displayed a shed allegedly used by a New Miami man to have sexual encounters with boys.

Luke Buchanan was indicted on 19 counts, including charges of rape and attempted rape. Detectives know of four alleged victims. They are ages 12 and 13. They said Buchanan met the boys through his two sons, who are 10 and 12.

Detectives removed the shed from the home. They say Buchanan slept there, not in the house with his family. It had an air conditioner, a refrigerator and a microwave.

Buchanan was accused of using alcohol and drugs to get the boys into the shed. They also referred to it as a clubhouse. Buchanan's wife says she didn't know about the alleged crimes in that shed.

Detectives described the conditions inside as deplorable.  They wanted the public to get a look at the shed. Police said Buchanan had it at a mobile home park in St. Clair Township, where he used to live. Detectives want to know if anyone remembers seeing boys go in and out of the shed at the mobile home park. They fear there are more victims.

Buchanan is in the Butler County jail under a quarter of a million dollars bond.
