Person fighting for life after being shot in head in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (Brad Underwood) -- A person was shot in the head at a park in Middletown Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at Douglass Park just after 2p.m.  The victim has been identified as Carlos Deangelo Knight.  He was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with critical injuries.
The incident happened in the parking lot.  Police say several children were at the park when the shooting happened.  They believe the victim and the shooter knew one another.

Lt. Scott Reeve of the Middletown police department said, "We believe that the individuals knew each other.  We're still early in the investigation so I'm not sure of the circumstances that led up to the shooting.  But we're pretty confident that the two knew each other."

The park was reopened but police are still searching for the shooter.  Police said that the victim has been arrested for felonies in the past.
