Zoo wants in on proposed cultural levy

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The Cincinnati Zoo asked to be part of the tax levy that could pay for renovations to Music Hall and Union Terminal.
The zoo director sent Hamilton County commissioners a letter last week asking them to think about including the zoo as a beneficiary of the proposed cultural arts tax levy.  If voters approve the measure it could raise more than $300 million.
Commissioners must decide by August sixth whether to put it on the ballot.  Some levy supporters expressed concern adding the zoo now could jeopardize the levy effort.
