Streetcar milestone will impact drivers

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A milestone in the Cincinnati streetcar project will impact drivers. Beginning Thursday night, eastbound lanes of Central Parkway will close between Vine and Walnut streets.
Crews will begin to install the next curved section of track. They will work around the clock to minimize the time that stretch of road will be affected.

Project executive John Deatrick spoke about the important milestone for the project. "It's the furthest point south that we've gotten. We have over 7,000 feet of track in.  You could say 'what's so important about this?' It's really important because it provides that link to the CBD."
During the construction, drivers are encouraged to find a different route. Detours will be posted. Central Parkway is expected to be closed until Monday.
