Police shoot and kill a pit bull in Bond Hill

BOND HILL, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police shot and killed a pit bull in Bond Hill Friday.

Officers were called to Dale Avenue Friday morning after someone reported two stray dogs roaming the neighborhood.  The dogs did not attack anyone but one dog did get aggressive with a man mowing his lawn.  One of the dogs also charged an officer who then shot that dog.
Captain Mike Neville with the Cincinnati police said, "The owners who have legal reason and ability to keep these dogs they need to take responsibility for them. And that's the crux of what we deal with."

The second pit bull was caught by the SPCA.  Police don't know who owns the dogs.  Officers said it's important for owners to take responsibility for their animals.
