Former CPD officer in court for deceiving young girls
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Former Cincinnati Police officer Daryl Beavers will head to court today. Prosecutors say former Beavers set up a fake police substation to deceive young girls.
Beavers was very active in the lower Price Hill community, and had earned the respect from many folks in the neighborhood for the work that he did.
That's why these allegations against Beavers are so shocking, not only to that community, but also to the Cincinnati Police Department.
He told the landlord of the apartment building he would be using it for police related activity in order to obtain the apartment rent free.
Inside the apartment, investigator say what they found was very incriminating -- a single bed, personal lubricant, and a collection of pornography.
Prosecutors also say Beavers received naked photos in the form of text messages from a 17-year-old girl who was a member of the Cincinnati Police Explorer Cadet Program.
Beavers destroyed his cell phone once he found out he was the target of an investigation.
