Music Hall, Union Terminal on endangered list

CINCINNATI (Joe Webb) -- After 137 years, Music Hall is officially on the National Trust list of 11 most endangered historic places. Union Terminal was also added. This is the first time in the organization's history dating back to 1988, that two buildings from the same city is on the list.

The designation comes right as the Cultural Facilities Task Force presented a proposal to raise Hamilton County's sales tax by a quarter of a percent to pay for repairs and renovations to both buildings.

Being included on the list of endangered historic places usually helps. Since 1988 only a handful of the 250 places listed have been lost. County Commissioners have until August 6 to put the sales tax proposal on the ballot.

The National Trust will be at Music Hall to get people's comments and memories about both historic sites from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
