Union Township man shoots home intruder

UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Rich Jaffe) -- Police identified the man shot by a Clermont County homeowner during an attempted home invasion robbery.

Three people were involved in the break-in at a home on the 4000 block of Grandview in Union Township early Wednesday morning. One person heard a noise, walked out of a room to find three intruders, two of them were armed.

The homeowner grabbed a gun and shot one of the thieves, 24-year-old Demetrius Robinson. Robinson went knocking on doors, bleeding profusely, trying to get help. He managed to get into one home on Kalde Street, before the homeowner pushed him back out and called police. Police did catch up with him. Robinson is in critical condition. Police say he'll face charges once his condition is fully known.

The other two suspects took off in a car. The two other suspects were caught a short time later. They are a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. The boy is charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault and aggravated burglary. The girl is charged with complicity to aggravated robbery and complicity to aggravated burglary.
