Fraternity brothers in court for alleged hazing incident

WILMINGTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- Fourteen people face charges in connection with a hazing incident at Wilmington College. Members of the Gamma Phi Gamma fraternity claimed an accident during a pledging ceremony led to the charges, but police said it was hazing. Friday, fourteen men will be in a municipal court in wilmington for an arraignment. All were charged with one count of hazing, a misdemeanor. Each will be required to enter a plea before a judge. Investigators have not said if all the individuals charged were students. All ranged in age from 36 to 20. Frat brothers allegedly used a towel with knots to hit a sophomore pledge last October. The injuries were so severe he had to undergo surgery to remove a testicle. That student decided to stick with the fraternity.
