USF students can now check out a drone

TAMPA BAY, Fla. (WKRC) -- University of South Florida students can now add a new item from the school's library they can check out.

Starting this upcoming fall semester students can visit the campus library to grab a drone for their next research project.

Prior to taking the drones up for a flight, students must receive the proper training and give an explanation on why their project needs it.

However, there's a "you break it -- you buy it" policy when it comes to the high tech device with students forking over $1,500 for wrecking a drone.
