Request for federal funding for streetcar

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The agency that will operate the streetcar is trying to get extra help to fund it.

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, known as SORTA, is asking for five million dollars in federal funding. That money would be used during the second and third years of operation.

SORTA has been working with the city of Cincinnati since December to work out a plan to deal with the three million dollar annual cost of running the streetcar.
