Over 20,000 customers lose power Monday

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- For thousands, a hot and humid Monday came with extra problems thanks to a widespread power outage.

More than 20,000 Duke customers spent 10 hours without power.

Problems began around 7:30 Monday morning at a substation on Madison Road.

Technicians scrambled to figure out what was going on.

Neighborhoods like Oakley, parts of Hyde park, Norwood and Columbia Tusculum  got their juice back just within the hour.

Businesses in the area saw dollar signs go out the window as they lost customers.

They could only wait in frustration for the power to come back on.
