Search for bear in Clermont County

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Rich Jaffe) -- Ohio's wildlife officials believe the black bear spotted in Clermont County over the past couple of days, may be headed back south.

Only one sighting was reported Wednesday. A caller to 911 believed the bear destroyed a dumpster behind a local elementary school.

Tuesday, dispatchers received about 20 calls of black bear sightings. They fielded several other calls from people wanting to know where it was.

Wildlife officials believe the bear is a young male, on his own for the first time looking for his own territory. They believe he may be headed back toward the Ohio River.
