Vietnam War veteran awarded honors earned 45 years later

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- It took nearly 45 years but a local soldier finally received the medals he earned for heroism in the Vietnam War.
Then-private James Bond, Jr. received half a dozen medals and ribbons from Senator Sherrod Brown Tuesday.  Bond was an army medic in Vietnam in 1969.
While under fire he refused to leave until everyone else in his unit had been cared for and evacuated.
