Two charged in racial attacks downtown in court

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Two people, believed to be connected to racially motivated attacks downtown, appear in court Thursday.

Matthew Johnson and Joshua McCoy face charges of felonious assault. A judge set bond at $250,000 dollars for Johnson. McCoy's bond is $150,000 dollars

Police say Johnson, McCoy and three others used racial slurs as they beat three white people downtown, the Hamilton County prosecutor's son among them.

The assaults were Memorial Day weekend, not far from the Taste of Cincinnati festival.
