S.W.A.T. training on the river

CINCINNATI (Perry Schaible) -- Emergency crews will be on the Ohio River today taking part in S.W.A.T. drills.

Officers participating in this training are trying to prepare for any emergency that could happen on the river.

This is a S.W.A.T. training exercise.

Drills like these are about more than just how to treat an emergency it's also typically about psychology, timing, and tactic like who gets off the boat first.

Training will be going on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Officers from the Kentucky Department Official Wildlife will take part but several agencies will also participate.

This is the first of three training sessions of this type this month.
