Man robs Green Twp. Kroger with a knife

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police identify a suspect in the robbery of a Green Township Kroger, thanks in part to his alleged getaway driver.

Police say Adam Smith robbed the Kroger on North Bend Road Wednesday night. Investigators say he was armed with a large kitchen knife and demanded money from the cashier. According to court papers, he got $40 and then jumped into a silver four door sedan driven by a woman.

An officer on routine patrol took note of the car. He thought there was something suspicious about it or the pair inside. He later learned investigators thought it was involved in the Kroger robbery.

Police were able to track down the driver and she identified Adam Smith as the robber. Police say surveillance video backs up the identification of Smith.

Smith faces an aggravated robbery charge but police still have to track him down. If you have any information, you're asked to call Green Township Police or Crimestoppers at 352-3040.
