Man had run in with escaped inmate

CHEVIOT, Ohio (WKRC) -- A local man says he had a run-in with a jail inmate who is still on the run, and he wants to know how Chris Bowden just walked out of the Hamilton County Justice Center.

A judge sentenced Bowden to community control for a violent robbery in 2013. And while he was out, police say he pointed a gun at another man's head and chest.

Deputies say Bowden walked out of jail Tuesday pretending to be Darius Dabney. Now this local man says he was moving into a house in Cheviot in May and noticed Bowden and some other men watching him.

He figured they were watching what he was bringing into his home and thinking about stealing it.

Bowden's community control was taken away because of the incident in Cheviot, and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the original aggravated robbery.

He still remains on the run Friday as the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department is looking into its policies and procedures.

They calls Bowden's escape a rare occurrence.
