Health Alert: Putting for Parkinson's Disease

CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- The weather has been great for golf, especially for the event, "Putting for Parkinson's disease."

At the Mayfield Clinic at University of Cincinnati the doctors and nurses take care of patients with a number of different illnesses.  One of  those is Parkinson's disease,

An event being thrown called "Putting for Parkinson's" is an annual tournament.  Scott Layman is part of the team helping to put throw it.  The event is Friday, July 18 at the Highland Country Club.  It raises money for Parkinson's research, something that means a lot to those such as Scott who are living with the disease.

Scott said, "The golf outing itself is therapeutic for me, especially early on in this diagnosis, what' I've been given,  But now to know that I may be able to help maybe one two or millions of people, to help these great doctors here find some cure in the research.  Then they then share with the whole world,  If I was a part of that , then that's pretty cool."

People can still register or make a donation to the tournament or research by CLICKING HERE.
