Man who escaped from Hamilton County Jail found

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- The search for an escaped inmate ended Tuesday night.

In a press release Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil reported Christopher Bowden, the escapee from the Hamilton County Justice Center, was captured.  Bowden had been on the run since July 1 and was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies said 20-year-old Chris Bowden assumed the identity of another inmate and walked out of the Hamilton County Justice Center a week ago.  The sheriff's office said two inmates pulled the identity switch and Bowden walked out pretending to be Darius Dabney.

Police descended on the location Bowden was believed to be hiding out around 6p.m. Tuesday.  He was found at his sister, Jessica Bowden's, apartment on Wendee Drive.  Bowden will be transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center and charged with escape, a second degree felony.

Four other people were charged with obstructing justice for their involvement in harboring and concealing Chris Bowden.  22-year-old Jessica Bowden, 24-year-old Theron Gardner (Jessica's boyfriend), 25-year-old Robert Bowden (Chris' brother), and 20-year-old Amber Howard (Chris' girlfriend) have been arrested.

The matter remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's criminal investigation section.
